Taste and See That the LORD Is Good

^[a] Of David, when he^(A) changed his behavior before^(B) Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away.

So have you ever stopped to wonder... When is God going to give me what I want?!?!?!?! Ive wondered this a few times.. Not in a stomp my foot and pout my mouth kinda way. But in a sincere heart on my sleeve way. I think its something we all come cross and something that we all have to learn how to put our desires away and ask the Lord to show us His desires for our lives.

The truth of the matter is its not about what we want or what we desire or what makes us happy.. Honestly how many times do we hear this? Well the honest truth is that you can put this very exact sentence in different pretty words but at the end of the day the message behind the sentence will be the same one.. Its not about us...

Next time you find yourself wondering When is God going to give me what I want you make sure to get on your knees and thank Him for what you have and pray that His desires for your life will become your desires as well and that you will by His grace act upon what He wants.

Visits

After church and some great lunch my cousin Yenisbel came over with her mom and dad. She's not really my cousin but its like if we were... We spent the time just sitting around the couch talking and laughing.. Did i mention she is prego!!!!!! well she is.. :-) she is due in 2 months... Im so excited for her and her husband, this is their first child. God willing when the baby boy is born I will go up to North Carolina to just hang out in their house and help them out in any way..

Also yesterday I got to visit baby Emily Joy Palaci in the Palaci residence!!! I went with Paula and Darell..... I was sorta kinda the third wheel but they were nice enough not to make it awkward haha jk We had a nice time of talking, watching Tangled, walking around the neighborhood and of course we got to hold baby Emy

Random thought: Just for fun if your brave enough look up a c-section video on youtube.... This looks painful!!!!! God willing if I have kids i hope to do it naturally..

Tests

Im feeling a bit overwhelmed with two tests coming up on wednesday. I feel stressed and like im never going to be ready for these tests.... What stinks is that my anatomy lab practicum is going to be more difficult than the anatomy lecture test. This lab prof is seriously nuts. Granted he is a nice guy but he expects us to know so much at a super deep level. Basically we need to learn the names of all the veins and arteries in the body from head to toe to be able to identify them on the spaghetti man, the endocrine system and EVERYTHING that goes with it, knowing all the hormones and the functions of the each hormone in each gland, know the glands, know everything about the blood WBC, RBC, platelets, plasma, serum, the heart and everything there too ... ETC the list goes on and on and im not doing it justice when i explained what i need to learn... so you can imagine how much more...

I know ill probably thank him by the end of the course, and I do enjoy learning these things but just for now im super overwhelmed!

I went to a Hair Salon yesterday, I was so excited to try my new experiment!! Blonde hair with some red low lights.. As I explained what I wanted to the guy he looked at me excited to make this master piece. When I sat down and he started to part my hair to get ready and start.. I remembered to ask how much he was going to charge me..

Me: Hey soo how much will it cost?

Guy: .........(thinking)..............................

Me: (biting lip, face getting red)

Guy: Well its going to be $90.

Me: Oh no.. could it be cheaper?

Guy: Uhmmm (Raises eyebrow, consults with other hair dresser while giving me the stink look) Okay $80

Me: Let me call my mom (mom said it's to expensive) Hey its to expensive.. Sorry for the bother

Guy: Okay Fine! (takes off all the clips from my hair)

Me: okay thanks anway bye (walked away)

So as I left with all my hopes down the drain.. I remembered to call another hair dresser who was charging me $45!!!! I made the appointment for the next day at 4 and here I am writing about this experience.. Im guessing the moral of this story would be Don't feel obligated to stay in the seat if its to expensive, theres always a more economical solution?? haha

GoodWill

I was blog surfing and I came across a few blogs with wild goodwill finds.. I decided to go and check out the goodwill for myself and see if I found anything.. I did!!!! I found two board shorts and a nice blouse!! Here are the pictures!!!

This shirt was $5. I think its super cute and kinda looks like a 70s shirt :-)

These board shorts cost $4 in my favorite color PINK! Im almost sure they would have cost about $15 any where else.

These babies right here cost $4 as well.. I really like the side pop of colors! The good thing is both the shorts look like new!!

This is me super happy ill be ready for the summer sun.. BEACH and POOL!! :-D

Straining Towards the Goal

My pastor preached on Philippians 3:12-16 today, and these verses are just so encouraging. Our goal should be the upward call of God in Christ Jesus! Sometimes we get distracted or discouraged with temporary goals or joys and we forget that our sole focus should be on Him and His kingdom! I hope I'm always caught up in my Fathers business.

I encourage you guys to just press on no matter how difficult, or easy the situation!! Press on to the only everlasting, most important goal you will ever have at hand!

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained.
Philippians 3:12-16

Another great saturday morning.. Woke up, and sat and ate breakfast with my mom.. Let me just say I have the best momma in the world!!! She gives the best advice and encourages me a lot!! I love that woman and Im so grateful to God for her :-) Basically today I'm just hanging out at home.. Its been a while since I could just sit here and lounge, watch a movie, sit out in the pool, etc.

I felt the need to delete my facebook. I really just dont want to waste my time on it anymore.. I would like to spend my time more wisely reading Gods word, praying or just studying for upcoming quizzes and tests for Anatomy 2. I hope I have the strength to just stay away from that addiction :-p If you feel the need to keep me accountable DO IT! haha
