SHE SAID YES (Willy & Melissa Engagement)

My best friend is engaged!!!!!! It was such a sweet moment. He had been planning for a while now and he finally got the chance to do it.
He called us all to be at her house at 9pm with the excuse that we were going to hang out or go out and do something. So of course she did not expect anything!!! So while we were waiting for them to arrive Abby, Ally and myself kept her company and told her to dress cute without her noticing the occasion.
This is our practiced surprise face before anything happened..

After waiting for a while they finally arrived and we all made way to the living room.. Again this was hilarious because we all knew what was going to happen and she didnt expect it at all.
Finally he began singing his song to her, and she finally realized this was a proposal!!! She was paralyzed most of the time as he poured out his soul through a song sung in a semi nervous tune. So finally he proposed and she said YES after a long heart felt pause.
Then we all celebrated and toasted and prayed for them. Here is the happy couple........
LET THE WEDDING PLANNING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!

Rock The Universe!!!

Rock the Universe was just so much fun!! Our church took around 19 people and we went in two buses from Miami to Orlando!! It was an amazing time of fellowship and just going upside down together on roller coasters!

I really only got to see one band and a half perform.. I saw a bit of Tenth Ave North and Third day.. Im kinda sad i missed David Crowder Band, and switch foot..
The Harry Potter town was pretty cool I was amazed at how much detail is involved!!!

While sitting down waiting for some friends to get out of the Spider Man ride, I got to meet a woman sitting down with a baby by the sidewalk. I was just making time making the little girl smile and just began chatting with the woman. She was telling me how all of her family traveled from Puerto Rico to Orlando because her niece who is 8 years old has terminal cancer and going to Disney was her last wish. When she said that my heart was just broken and as I began to try and encourage her she was just so set on the idea that her God knew what He was doing and that they trusted that what ever happens is for good. WOW I was just amazed at this. I am grateful because our LORD gives hope, love, our LORD comforts, and our LORD provides.. As i continued to speak to her, her niece and her little cousins came out of the spider man ride and she just lit  up my face with her contagious laughter and happiness. If you would like to join me in praying for this family please do.. :-D

Dad's birthday :-)

Since my sleep schedule is so messed up i stayed up to get my dad a nice birthday breakfast. I went to burger king and ordered 3 croissants with bacon egg and cheese, one french toast, a small coffee, and an orange juice.
When i got home i printed out a cute Happy 49 Birthday sign and cut it out. Then i taped some tooth picks together and vuala!
As i was walking to his room he woke up and opened the door and came to the kitchen and we had a nice breakfast together!
The rest of the food was for my brother and my mom, they enjoyed it as well when they woke up.

Man I love my daddy and i am so grateful to God for his life. I learned with this experience that i like serving others. I had been praying for that and so i think the Lord is warming me up to the idea.

Messed up sleep schedule

Enjoy the tune while your reading :-)

I have had summer only for 3 weeks since i had summer classes. So now I am staying up late and waking up slow. I usually go to sleep at about 4 or 5am and wake up at about 3pm!!! Yes i know its crazyyy! But this is how i like to enjoy my summer sleeping, and hanging out with friends.
Now i need to start trying to get back to my regular sleep schedule because school starts August 22, I have 6 classes and my first class is at 8am every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!!! AHHH how will I survive!!!! The LORD will take me through it!
But YES i need a plan to fix my sleep schedule i think ill start it on Friday.

UPDATE

I know ive gotten a bit lazy on my blogging so here is an update of my life.

Spiritual Life:
God has been just teaching me to wait on Him. I feel like I dont learn my lesson so its going to be a continued lesson. I just need to trust Him and know that He is handling things and working even if I dont see it at times. Also i have been learning to practice self control, be kind, think before i speak, etc.

Prayer Request:
-For my brother, uncle, and cousins: That God would just break the chains and the addictions and that they would be saved.
-That God would continue to mold me into a godly woman.
-For this school semester that is starting now. I have 6 classes and i need to manage my time well and focus!

Career:
I was going to study to be a physician assistant but it turns out there are more benefits in being a nurse. If I do nursing I could continue education to a nurse practitioner and if I would like i can continue to open my own office and do my own thing. A nurse practitioner also gets payed better. I just want to do something that involves medicine and helping people and that brings a nice income to the home if needed. For now im just going to try and get a bachelors in nursing and proceed to work for a company in which i can visit homes in my self made schedule. So God willing this is what I will be studying and eventually practicing.

Dont lose heart

My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. (Exodus 33:14)

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. (Deuteronomy 33:27)

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. (Psalm 9:9-10)
I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:8)

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, yet I will be confident. (Psalm 27: 1, 3)

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. (Psalm 32:7-8)

I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4)
Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. (Psalm 34:10b)

High Heels Trauma

I was invited by my family to come and eat with them to a place called "Rainforest Cafe" My little cousins from Texas are visiting for the summer and we want to enjoy the time with them as much as possible. I had been to it before in Orlando when I was about 12. I love going there its like a jungle. While your eating they have monkeys making noise and Elephants, serpents, crocodiles moving.

Well anyway, back to the trauma case!
As I was walking through sawgrass mall I notice my feet are being pressed up in the front and my ankle is kinda giving out on me. I optimistically continued walking thinking it was just a temporary pain. I guessed wrong. As I continued walking a little more the pain was unbearable. It was just impossible on my ankle. So i took of the 5 inch heels and started waking barefoot. My little cousin lent me his Sunday Church socks and I walked barefoot in the mall and through the restaurant.
The food was pretty good and the Volcano chocolate cake and ice cream was just amazing. After that I saw some CROCS in the gift shop and I went crazy over them. Ive been wanting a pair for a long time and I couldnt think of a better opportunity to purchase them.
So there you have it! This is why i look like a nut case in this outfit.. BEWARE OF HIGH HEEL TRAUMA!

New Adventures

Melissa and I were invited to a bachelorette party up in west palm beach. It was different and fun. They had a few games, one of them was to guess what actor, sports player, or singer you had written on a sticky note on your back. The other game we had to pin the junk on the hunk, and for the last game we had to make a lingerie piece from toilet paper. Here is our creation for Melissa

After the party the other girls went off to a club and Mel and I went to this place called BBKings at City Place!!! It was such an awesome experience like out of a movie. We got in for free and got to hear some awesome music. It was kinda weird at first because we were the only two white girls trying to break it down on the floor. But it was so much fun listening to the house band play some familiar tunes.

THROW IT ON THE GROUND!!!!!!

This is a video we have all been cracking up too and mocking like crazy!!!!!! At youth camp we even did a skit on it hahahahaaha. There are some parts of the video that might not be suitable for kids they say jack*** and butt****. But the funny thing about it is the guy throwing everything on the ground! sooo yeahh

Trust

As I was reading Psalms 9:10 which reads " And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you." I also read the commentary under my bible which said that to know Gods name, to put trust in him, and to seek him are all ideals of OT piety, of which the people of Israel often fell short.
Its so eye opening or better said good to remember and to notice that from the beginning of time we have always had an issue with trusting God. He continually proves to be trust worthy and perfect in all that He does and we continue to doubt and to worry.

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: It’s not wrong to ask why.

God is just wanting Job to see that there are so many things that we can’t begin to understand. Don’t try to think that you can understand why this suffering.
Then we come to the great statement of confession and repentance in Job 42, beginning in verse one.
Then Job answered the Lord and said, "I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted." [You said, O God,] "Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?" Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. [You said to me,] "Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you make it known to me [Job]" (verses 1-4).
[Then Job says to God,] “I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes” (verses 5-6).
It’s not wrong to ask why, but are you asking with this turmoil and this drive that says, “God, if You don’t explain it, I won’t love You; I won’t trust You; I won’t obey You”? Or are you asking with this searching heart that says, “God, I want to know more of You. I want to know more of Your ways. I want to know anything You want to show me through this. But if I have to live with mystery and unanswered questions the rest of my life, I will still trust You. I will still love You. I will still obey You.”

Listen to the podcast i truly recommend it. You will be blessed by it.

PUMPED

Im so excited for Youth Camp this year the theme is "Set Free"!!!!! We will be studying Romans 8. Its gonna be my first youth camp!! This year God has given me the opportunity and responsibility to lead the youth in worship on wednesdays in power night and sooo for the youth camp the youth band comes along..

We had our meeting on Tuesday to get all the songs and chords ready, and today was our first practice.. I am so grateful to God for helping us today and leading us.. Honestly we got down some really difficult songs.. Today we did "Rise and Sing, Search My Heart, Forever, Set Free, No Chain On Me, and others I cant seem to remember the names to right now..

Tomorrow were going to practice as well just to get all the songs down packed for camp which is from July 5-9!!

Please if your reading this take the time to pray for the youth in our church.. Its been pretty tough but I know the LORD is already in work and doing something big!! Pray that they would be receptive to His word and worship.. Also pray that after they come back from camp that they would continue in worship with their lives.

Friday Nights

Im so happy and thankful to the LORD that we even have a young adults group at my church on friday nights. It is a true blessing to fellowship and have accountability with people who love the LORD and want to grow.. Honestly right now as a group we are.. dare i say.. pretty immature in His word.. I know that's a big statement to make but I include myself in it. Which is why I am so grateful to our LORD that we started a new series by John Piper. The title of the cd is "The Blazing Center."

Honestly we just started this series last friday and ive been so blessed by it. One of the quotes that most stuck out to me and just really hit home was when Piper said "God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him" WOW

Sometimes we get so caught up in serving serving serving or preaching preaching preaching His word.. Which by the way is awesome and we should be doing these things as an act of worship and are called to do it. But we cannot forget that He is so glorified when we find our rest, trust, hope, faith, etc in Him. By the way, I truly believe that worship cannot be an action unless its your identity. So we have to be so submerged in His word and completely satisfied just knowing who He is in us and who we are in Him.

It just make me wonder and I would like for you to wonder about this too...
Is He enough for us??? Is he ALL to us??? I started thinking about all the "things" I want out of this life.. A husband, kids, career etc... What if I don't get any of those things??? If i just have Him is that enough??? Would i be happy with just Him

Our answers are probably YES OF COURSE!!! And they should be because He is enough!! But I just want to make this a reality in my life. In the way I act, speak, think etc.

This song is pretty cool if you would like to listen to it..

Dude Wheres My car?!?!?!?!?

Yesterday I went to visit one of my best friends Hevila at her home.. She lives in Brazil but is visiting for 2 weeks.. She recently had a baby, Isabela. She is the cutest thing ever!!!! While at Hevis house we talked, ordered pizza, and more of our friends came over. Elizabet and Rosy.. We have all been friends since middle school and it was really cool to all be in the same room after all that time catching up and just chatting..

Now onto the the reason of my title...

When i first got to Hevilas house it was about 3:30 and I parked on the parking spot 210, and I was suppose to park on 209.. I hadn't been to her house in like a year or two and my memory was a little gone as to her appt number.. When we got out of the house like at 9ish.. I stared with a baffled face as I looked all around the parking spot.. "DUDE WHERES MY CAR" lol Parked perfectly where I was parked was a beautiful dark gray car... As I stood there saying I parked RIGHT HERE????? I think.. No Im almost sure I parked here?!!?!? My friend got the number to the Tow Truck Place and we drove all the way to Okechobee and Hialeah and just all over the place.. We were pretty lost!!! The Tow truck place was called GALACTIC... And im pretty sure the reason they chose that name is because the place is SUPER FAR

Three years ago, Hevila, Elizabet, and I were caught in the same predicament as we drove home from Homecoming night.. We thought it was pretty funny how we were all lost together again in Okeechobee hahaha Well anyway after texting a couple of unhelpful people ;-p I called my dad and he helped us find the place.. I had to pay $104 to get my car back..

Just gotta say, Im thankful to God my car was towed because I got to spend some more time with the girls and who knows what else could've happened if my car wouldn't have gotten towed...

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Can you do that?

All you have, remember, is today. You might be dead tomorrow. We could all be raptured. We do not know what a day may bring forth. So it's in this present moment that God is asking you to trust Him. Can you do that until the sun goes down? He is not asking you to trust Him for the next twenty years. He is only giving you today. It is this day and only this day in which you can glorify Him, because the past is gone and the future is not here yet. We don't know what the future holds, but we do know Who holds the future.

-Elisabeth Elliot
